WAKEFIELD — Contemporary Theater Company’s Springboard Season features projects proposed and led by community and ensemble members. It's an opportunity to take chances, pursue dream projects, and get new work onstage. The season continues on Friday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m., with “F#&%ing Shakes,” a Shakespeare monologue workshop from Head Trick Theatre and directed by Rebecca Maxfield. It features participants working on monologues using unconventional techniques, with the final performance being the workshop versions.
Next up, singers from the Contemporary Theater Company Chorus and ensemble will present ‘Love Songs,’ featuring songs of romance through the years, on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m.
On Friday, Feb. 16 and 23, the musical satire “Candide,” with music by Leonard Bernstein, will be presented at 7 p.m.
“Hear Me Roar,” curated by Kelly Robertson, is a devised theatrical performance in which local artists will perform their own manifestos. The performance will be held on Friday, March 2, at 7 p.m.
On Friday, March 9 and 16, “The Big Chase,”directed by Neal Leaheey will be presented. In the untraditional mystery, one of the performers begins the evening as a private detective and only the remaining performers know who among them is a dangerous criminal. The performances areat 7 p.m.
