WOOD RIVER JCT. — Six Chariho High players scored in double figures as the Chargers rolled past Pilgrim, 96-39, in a Division II boys basketball game Tuesday night.
Chariho (15-7, 12-6 Division II) locked up the sixth seed in the D-II tournament and will host Tolman on Friday or Saturday at a time to be announced.
“Our help defense was so good and our ball defense was spot on,” Chargers coach Corey Downey said. “We were sharing the basketball on the offensive end and not settling for 3s.”
Luke Fusaro led the team in scoring with 19 points. Dylan LaBelle made four 3-pointers and finished with 16. Ben Harrison had 15 points and seven rebounds.
Ryan Allen and John Pellegrino added 12 points each, Tom Longolucco contributed 11 points and 20 rebounds, and Dan LaBelle had five points and eight assists.
Chariho led 40-18 at the half and scored 56 points in the second half.
Pilgrim finished the regular season 10-12, 7-11.
