Boys indoor track: Chariho’s Morin places 4th in 55 hurdles, Champlin 5th in 1,500 at state meet



PROVIDENCE — Mitch Morin finished fourth in the 55-meter hurdles and the Chariho High boys track team placed 17th at the state indoor track championships Saturday at the Providence Career & Technical Academy.

Morin turned in a time of 7.96 seconds.

Tim Champlin placed fifth in the 1,500 (4:11.82).

Chariho’s 4x400 relay team of Alexi Fauzey, Luke Elson, Connor Klein and Christian Sardelli finished fifth in the 4x400 relay (3:39.32).

Chariho earned eight team points. La Salle Academy was first with 76, and Bishop Hendricken took second with 56.

The top six finishers in each event qualified for the New England championships on March 3 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
